Since leaving the house early yesterday morning, I knew I was forgetting something. Camera? Nope. Knitting stuff? Unuh. Directions, confirmations? Got 'em. Sneakers, socks, sweaters? All packed...
The list can go on and on, and it won't change the fact that the cute fuzzy and warm felted mittens I made with my own hands, the matching scarf, and various other warm cuddly scarves, are all sitting in the closet at home. As soon as I walked out of the airport into the cold with my neck exposed, I knew. It is just wrong. Woe, is me.
I am off in a moment to run down the street to the yarn store, yes, if it wasn't something close to zero degrees, it is close enough for a stroll, and buy some super chunky yarn that will be a scarf before bedtime tonight. Motherfucker.

Oh my word. Thank goodness there is yarn to buy and nimble knitting fingers to execute the deed.
Two words: Hot Toddy.
Ohhh, not a good time to not have the essentials for warmth!
Just how fast can you knit a scarf though?
I started the scarf at about 12:30 on the Grand Isle Ferry to VT. That was about a 25 minute ride. Then I was waiting for someone I agreed to pick up at the airport in Burlington and I had about 40 minutes there. Dinner at the Highland Lodge was at 630 and before the meal was done, which was about 2 hours or so, my scarf was done. Toasty warm neck all weekend.
I am so good.
I am awed by your knitting prowess. wow. but then again..you are the queen.
